for a dervish dont bother using a secondary profession till you really understand the game. just take [skill]Death Pact Signet[/skill] for a rez.

If you take homeboy up there's advice your going /Necromancer... but really the only other really worth it would be /Warrior... for Protectors Strike or Wild Blow or something similar... if your going for just getting things done that is... you could just come up with something unique i supoose

if he took my advise it woulde be /rit silly. and yeah warrior attacks are good, but i would confuse a new player with them. they end up with wind prayers and a sword.

If you are suggesting D/Rit, that would imply:

Scythe22 has Factions and Night Fall, also Scythe22 would also need to have a change in 2ndary profession to ritualist, as you cannot have a ritualist 2ndary initially in Nightfall.

Therefore, Scythe22 can have D/x (x = any available profession) and then when given the chance, change to D/Rit. Until then, use no 2ndary profession skills, only pure Dervish skills. That way Scythe22 can try to master the Dervish profession.

That is how I read your post. If my interpretation is correct, I will agree with you. Master the primary before trying to incorporate skills from other professions.

I would suggest D/Mo to start (using a hard rez - such as rebirth or resurrect) as your only monk skill.

yeah my bad... silly me, basically don't do what he said. and you'll be fine... earth prayers and sythes all the way.... Lyssa is alywas nice if you can't decide on an elite... and if you were feeling froggy because lyssa is so amazing you could go /sin and wreck some havoc... just a thought

If you like the game I recommend getting the other campaigns and expansion as soon as possible. It doesn't take long to hit 20 and you'll probably wan to try other professions. As for your second profession it doesn't really matter until you can change it. While leveling you will want use all dervish skills anyway, so to fill the spot you might as well go monk. I went elemental but it didn't help me out at all. Monk gives you a hard rez(a reusable resurrection spell). This game is very party dependent so you will need a rez when party members die.

I would definitely go Monk to begin. But once you get factions and are ascended I would definitely take Assassin since they tend to work well as a secondary. Good luck!

Honestly a Dervish has enough skills from it's own skill pool to not need a to rely or any additions from the secondary profession. I've chosen D/E and honestly have not touched a single E skill. /Mo would be good for a resurrection skill or Mending Touch.

First master the Dervish skills. Learn to maintain your enchantments, when to remove your enchantments, and position yourself and your enemies to take advantage of the scythes ability to hit several foes in one attack.

Healing shouldn't be an issue. Earth Prayers and some scythe attacks give great healing. Also you're not a real tank, leave it to the warriors or you'll be the reason Monks are out of energy.

I run D/W on my dervish, mainly for wild blow and distracting strike. Sometimes D/A for dash. Typically I just stay D/W though.

Elementalist or warrior are probably the best if you're trying to get some utility out of it, else use ritualist and death pact signet...

Warrior has some good stance-cancelling attacks that the vanilla Dervish doesn't; Elementalist has some useful supplementary skills such as Glyph of Lesser Energy (means you can cast a couple 10e enchantments for free, which is great if the energy is a problem and you have the bar space), or if you're going to be a noob and tank, there are some very good Earth Magic skills to help with that - Armor of Earth and Stoneflesh Aura for example.
